Regular Season Round 22: Hunan - Henan 106-108

The most important game in the last round took place in Changsha between third ranked Hunan (17-4) and ninth ranked Henan (10-11) on Sunday night. Hunan was edged by Henan in a tough game at home 106-108. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Hunan. The guests trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 2 points. American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: IPFW) fired a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds for the winners. Guard Longfei Wang (190-91) chipped in 23 points. Henan's coach JianXin Li used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Center JunQi Jiang (202-90) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and American-Jamaican guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) added 25 points and 10 assists respectively for lost side. Four Hunan players scored in double figures. Henan moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Hebei X. Hunan at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Henan is looking forward to face league's second-placed Guangxi at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Hunan will play against Luoyang and is hoping to win this game.
