Puerto Rico nipped Dominican Republic in a closely matched semifinal clash to advance into the title game in Barranquilla. Javier Mojica came up with 12 points to lead the winners. Puerto Rico went on a 31:17 run in the second period to take a 13-point halftime lead. Dominican Republic ignited a strong 25:15 rally in the fourth period but came up short of win at the end. Ramon Clemente had 10 points in the victory. Jhonatan Araujo replied with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks for Dominican Republic.
