Wellington Saints fired past Taylor Hawks to advance into NBL Grand Final. The game without a history. Saints led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American swingman LJ Peak (196-96, college: Georgetown, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up and scored 31 points for the winners and international guard Shea Ili (184-92) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side the former international swingman Dion Prewster (195-90, college: SF Austin, agency: MKP Management) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
