Second Stage Round 1: Quebradillas - Ponce 101-87

Piratas defeated Leones in Quebradillas 101-87. The game was mostly controlled by Piratas. Leones was better in third quarter 30-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Piratas brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) nailed 28 points and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) accounted for 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international swingman Angel-Daniel Vassallo (198-86, college: Virginia Tech) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (201-84, college: Hofstra, agency: BeoBasket) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Leones in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Leones' coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
