Second Stage Round 3: Escazu - U Costa Rica 79-54

An exciting game was played in San Jose. Escazu faced U Costa Rica. Host Escazu (4-0) smashed guests from (0-3) 79-54. Escazu forced 21 U Costa Rica turnovers. The best player for the winners was international power forward Rohel Wilson (197-89) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Alonso Sanchez (174-85) chipped in 10 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Juan Cordero (-98) who recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Jose Solano (189-91) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Escazu are looking forward to face Grecia (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. U Costa Rica will play against ARBA in San Jose and hopes to get finally their first victory.
