Second Stage Round 5: Bayamon - Quebradillas 87-81

Date: August 17, 2018
Very significant was Vaqueros' (#2, 4-3) victory against second-ranked Piratas (4-3) 87-81. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It looked good early as Piratas took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vaqueros had a 24-18 second period charge getting the lead and Piratas were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 81-87. Nigerian-American power forward Ikechukwu Diogu (204-83, college: Arizona St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 9 rebounds. The former international Javier Mojica (190-84, college: Cent.Conn.St.) contributed with 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) answered with 22 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Piratas. Vaqueros keep a position of league leader, which they share with Arecibo and Quebradillas.
