Regular Season Round 1: Challans - Brissac Anjou 86-63

Vendee Challans used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Brissac-Quince 86-63 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Vendee Challans. Brissac Anjou was better in second period 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Oumarou Sylla (185-92) stepped up and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and point guard Paul Turpin (190-93) chipped in 18 points. Four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Vendee Challans' coach Philippe Namyst felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side naturalized Mali swingman Sourata Cisse (196-86) responded with 22 points and Senegalese center Moise Diame (206-86) scored 16 points. Vendee Challans will face JSA Bordeaux on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Brissac Anjou will play against Toulouse (#13) and hope to win that game.
