Regular Season Round 1: Besancon - Aubenas 83-82

A very interesting game took place in Besancon. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of Aubenas (0-1) to Besancon (1-0) 83-82 on Saturday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian forward Henrikas Vorotnikovas (203-90) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds. Olushina Ikuesan (190-91) contributed with 25 points for the winners. American forward Gregg Thondique (201-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 22 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import power forward Jalen Henry (203, college: SIU Edwardsville, agency: Court Side) added 15 points in the effort for Aubenas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Aubenas' coach Marc Namura rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Besancon's next round opponent will be ALS Basket in Andrezieux and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aubenas will play on the road against Sorgues BC (#13) and hope to win that game.
