Regular Season Round 1: Salou - Castellbisbal 76-67

Salou used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Castellbisbal 76-67 on Sunday night. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-12. But Castellbisbal won second period 13-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Castellbisbal outrebounded Salou 44-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. American guard Everrett Pleasant (198, college: Tex.A&M-Comm.) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and forward Marc Morales (200-80) chipped in 14 points. Salou's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side forward Marc Manes (196-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and center Gerard Galbete (204-88) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Salou will face Tarragona (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Castellbisbal will play against Martorell and hope to win that game.
