Regular Season Round 1: Split - Vrsac 87-69

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Serbian Vrsac (0-1) on the court of Croatian Split on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by Split 87-69. Split forced 20 Vrsac turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Split looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Tomislav Gabric (204-95, agency: PEPI SPORT) fired 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Jamel Morris (193-92, college: Fairmont St.) chipped in 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Split players scored in double figures. Guard Nemanja Kapetanovic (195-97, agency: BeoBasket) produced 14 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and center Veljko Brkic (206-95) added 12 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Split is looking forward to face Dynamic VP in Beograd in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vrsac will play on the road against Helios (#8) in Domzale and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
