Regular Season Round 3: Chemnitz - Schalke 82-78

Not a big story in a game when Schalke (1-2) was defeated on the road by Chemnitz (3-0) 82-78 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Chemnitz made 30-of-39 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Malte Ziegenhagen (195-91, college: Keiser) who scored 23 points. American forward Ivan Elliott (203-86, college: UCSB) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) who recorded 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Bjoern Rohwer (213-95) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Chemnitz will meet Gladiators (#4) in the next round. Schalke will play against Artland Dragons (#1) and hope to win that game.
