Very predictable result when top-ranked Stuttgart (3-0) defeated on the road 11th ranked Mainz (1-2) 80-73 on Saturday. Stuttgart dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Mainz's 32. They outrebounded Mainz 47-32 including a 39-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Nick Mosley (203-88, college: Tarleton St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 23 rebounds and Montenegrin Milos Mandic (195-97) who added 17 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side naturalized American point guard Anish Sharda (188-82, college: St.Mary's, KS) responded with 29 points and 4 assists and Maximilian Befort (203-94) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Mainz's coach Christian Zander tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Stuttgart have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of South-West leader, which they share with Speyer. Loser Mainz dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. Stuttgart will face Fellbach (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mainz will play against Saarlouis/Dillingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
