Regular Season Round 1: Vardar - Kumanovo 77-85

An interesting game was also home loss of Vardar in a game in Skopje versus undefeated Kumanovo 85-77. Kumanovo outrebounded Vardar 34-20 including 20 on the defensive glass. International Igor Penov (203-84) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and Serbian point guard Filip Dumic (180-90) accounted for 17 points and 9 assists. Four Kumanovo players scored in double figures. American guard Junious Prowell (188, college: S.Crescent Tech) came up with 32 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Igor Ivanovic (-93) added 14 points respectively for Vardar in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kumanovo will meet at home Gostivar (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Vardar will have a break next round.
