Regular Season Round 1: Oulun NMKY - FoKoPo 100-78

Oulun NMKY used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Forssa 100-78 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Oulun NMKY led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Swingman Shon Briggs (198-95, college: CSU Bakersfield) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and point guard Dedrick Basile (178-94, college: CSU Bakersfield) chipped in 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Briggs is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Oulun NMKY players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Isaac Williams (195-94, college: Miss.Valley St.) responded with 36 points (!!!) (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and center Gilbert Talbot (208-94, college: LSU-Alexandria) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Oulun NMKY will face Lahti (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
