Regular Season Round 2: Vestri - Fjolnir 92-101

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when Fjolnir (1-1) beat on the road Vestri (1-1) 101-92 on Friday. Vestri was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Fjolnir looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Anton Grady (203-92, college: Wichita St.) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and guard Robert Sigurdsson (187-94) supported him with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Fjolnir players scored in double figures. Even 30 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists by Serbian swingman Nebojsa Knezevic (196-87) did not help to save the game for Vestri. Montenegrin forward Nemanja Knezevic (203-87) added 20 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. Fjolnir will meet at home Snaefell (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Vestri will play against FSU (#7) in Selfoss and hope to win that game.
