The biggest surprise of round 5 was guest JSA Bordeaux's (4-1) road victory over Vitre (#4) 77-74 on Friday evening. It was a key game for the top position in Group B. Strangely Vitre outrebounded JSA Bordeaux 44-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Vitre helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was center Mathieu Boyer (208-95) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international center Ludovic Vaty (205-88, college: Moraine Valley CC) chipped in 15 points. JSA Bordeaux's coach Joachim Duthe used a ten-player rotation in such tough game.
