Regular Season Round 3: Dnipro-2 - SumDU 69-64

SumDU (0-1) recorded a loss on the court of Dnipro-2 on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Dnipro-2 69-64. The hosts trailed by 15 points at the halftime before their 40-20 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Dnipro-2 dominated on the defensive end, holding SumDU to just 4 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to SumDU's 30. They outrebounded SumDU 41-24 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Pavlo Bondarenko (200-99) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Roman Bondarchuk (196-98) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Dnipro-2's coach used entire bench in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Igor Kryvych (198-78) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Igor Starodub (187-97) added 13 points, 5 assists and 5 steals respectively. Dnipro-2 is again looking forward to face SumDU (#8) in Sumy in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SumDU will have a break next round.
