Regular Season Round 2: Sykki - Lahti 71-67

There was no surprise in Helsinki where Lahti (0-3) was defeated by Sykki (2-1) 71-67 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lahti won third quarter 15-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Mikko Savolainen (195-2) scored 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Alvar Pemberton (195-0) chipped in 11 points during the contest. Four Sykki players scored in double figures. Sykki's coach Tomas Luomanmaki used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Center Luukas Vaara (204-1) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Eero Leutola (184-0) scored 15 points. Sykki's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Helsinki to the arena Rocks.
