Regular Season Round 5: MuKi - East Ball 65-44

Not a big story in a game in Helsinki where 14th ranked Latvian East Ball (1-4) was outplayed by ninth ranked Finnish MuKi (3-2) 65-44 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by MuKi. East Ball was better in second period 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding East Ball to just 7 points in third quarter. MuKi dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to East Ball's 22. MuKi forced 20 East Ball turnovers. The best player for the winners was swingman Joona Heinonen (186) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Albatrit Syla (198) chipped in 7 points and 10 rebounds. Aleksis Gaidamovics produced 23 points and Kokins added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. East Ball's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. MuKi have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser East Ball keeps the fourteenth position with four games lost. MuKi will face Meshcheryakov (#14) in Minsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. East Ball will play against the league's leader Valmiera and hope to win that game.
