Regular Season Round 2: Montecatini - Vigevano 93-75

There was a surprise result when Montecatiniterme (1-1) defeated at home Vigevano (1-1) 93-75 on Sunday. Montecatiniterme made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. Montecatiniterme outrebounded Vigevano 40-23 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Vigevano was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Franco Migliori (200-82) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Gianluca Giorgi (200-95) contributed with 25 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Patrizio Verri (196-88) replied with 17 points and Daniele-Mario Benzoni (195-80) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Vigevano. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Montecatiniterme will face Varese Robur (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
