Regular Season Round 5: SBS Ostrava - MK Technic 80-86

MK Technic has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Ostrava, where they defeated SBS Ostrava (0-4) 86-80. MK Technic forced 20 SBS Ostrava turnovers. Strangely SBS Ostrava outrebounded MK Technic 44-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. MK Technic players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Guard Hana Gasicova (171-98) nailed 30 points and 4 assists for the winning side and power forward Kamila Selucka (186-93) accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds. MK Technic's coach Lucie Zitkova allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Slovakian Lucia Hadacova (185-95) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian point guard Ines Corda (169-95) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for SBS Ostrava in the defeat. MK Technic maintains eighth place with 1-3 record. It was SBS Ostrava's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. They share the position with U19 Chance and Slovanka MB. MK Technic will play against higher ranked Sokol Hradec Kralove (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SBS Ostrava will play against the league's second-placed KP Brno and will have a slim chance for a victory.
