Regular Season Round 4: Piestanske C. - MBK Ruzomb. 57-59

The most exciting game of round 4 in the Extraliga took place in Piestany. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th ranked Piestanske C. (2-2) to top-ranked MBK Ruzomberok (5-0) 59-57 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Piestanske C.. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Chucky Jeffery (178-91, college: Colorado) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 assists. Lithuanian power forward Egle Siksniute (198-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. MBK Ruzomberok's coach Juraj Suja used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. International center Ivana Jakubcova (198-94, college: USC) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds and Canadian center Jessica Lubin (185-90) added 20 points in the effort for Piestanske C.MBK Ruzomberok have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Piestanske C. at the other side keeps the fourth place with two games lost. MBK Ruzomberok are looking forward to face Samorin (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Piestanske C. will play against Slovan in Bratislava and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
