Regular Season Round 5: Real Madrid II - Aridane 91-66

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Real Madrid II (4-1) outleveled at home 12th ranked Aridane (1-4) 91-66 on Saturday. They outrebounded Aridane 44-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. Real Madrid II looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Usman Garuba (202-2) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. Slovenian point guard Ziga Samar (192-1) chipped in 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Serbian power forward Aleksandar Rac (206-89) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Corey Raley-Ross (191-91, college: Buffalo) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Real Madrid II have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with Alcobendas and Quintanar. Newly promoted Aridane dropped to the fourteenth position with four games lost. Real Madrid II will face Quintanar (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Aridane will play against the league's second-placed CB Guadalajara (#2) and hope to win that game.
