The game had a very big importance for second-ranked CEZ Nymburk as it allowed them to take a leadership position. CEZ Nymburk defeated 11th ranked BK Usti nad Labem at home 92-81. They outrebounded BK Usti nad Labem 40-26 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. CEZ Nymburk shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Kendall Smith (190-95, college: Oklahoma St.) stepped up and scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and international forward Martin Kriz (200-93) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. CEZ Nymburk's coach Oren Amiel used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ladislav Pecka (197-91) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Pavel Houska (203-84, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. CEZ Nymburk (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. BK Usti nad Labem lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. They share the position with NH Ostrava. BK Usti nad Labem will play next round against NH Ostrava trying to get back on the winning streak. CEZ Nymburk will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Kralovsti sokoli in Hradec Kralove.
