Rather expected game when 5th ranked Kagawa FA (1-6) was smashed by third ranked Shimane Magic (5-3) in Takamatsu 90-51 on Sunday. Shimane Magic held Kagawa FA to an opponent 22.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 49.2 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Kagawa FA 48-25 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shimane Magic looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Kagawa FA's players. Swingman Takuya Soma (181-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Shimane Magic's coach Yukinori Suzuki felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) replied with 19 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and point guard Keitaro Kimura (176-93) added 11 points and 5 assists in the effort for Kagawa FA. Shimane Magic moved-up to second place, which they share with Cyberdyne IR and Tokyo Z. Kagawa FA lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. Shimane Magic will face Bambitious Nara (#5) at home in the next round. Kagawa FA will play against Orange Vikings in Matsuyama and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
