Regular Season Round 4: Nuwaidrat - Manama 84-118

Undefeated leader Al-Manama delivered the fourth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 9th ranked Al-Nweidrat (1-2) 118-84 in Nuwaidrat. Al-Manama dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Al-Nweidrat's 36. Al-Manama forced 19 Al-Nweidrat turnovers and outrebounded them 40-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 35 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Al-Nweidrat helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by international Maitham Jameel who scored that evening 42 points (!!!) and 6 assists and American Wayne Chism (206-87, college: Tennessee) supported him with 20 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Even a double-double of 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by Serbian-FYR Macedonian forward Nenad Zivcevic (203-87) did not help to save the game for Al-Nweidrat. American forward Ahmed Hassan (203-91, college: MiraCosta JC) added 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for lost side. Five Al-Manama and four Al-Nweidrat players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Al-Manama have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Al-Muharraq. Al-Nweidrat at the other side dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. Al-Manama's next round opponent will be Isa Town (#8) in Issa Town and are hoping to win another game. Al-Nweidrat will play on the road against Al-Riffa and hope to win that game.
