Regular Season Round 4: Tindastoll - Njardvik 95-73

Round 4 in Dominos League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Sauoarkrokur where host Tindastoll (4-0) crushed league's leader Njardvik (3-1) 95-73 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Njardvik. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Tindastoll. Njardvik managed to win fourth quarter 28-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tindastoll looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. International guard Petur Birgisson (185-96) fired 29 points and 7 assists for the winners. American power forward Urald King (198-90, college: SE Oklahoma) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. Four Tindastoll players scored in double figures. Croatian forward Mario Matasovic (203-93, college: Sacred Heart) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Logi Gunnarsson (190-81) added 13 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tindastoll have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Njardvik at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Tindastoll. Njardvik will play next round against Haukar trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Tindastoll will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked KR in Reykjavik.
