Regular Season Round 6: Olomouc SK - Ostrava 76-78

Bottom-ranked Olomouc SK (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 78-76 loss to eighth ranked Ostrava (2-4) in Olomouc on Friday evening. They made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Jan Ricka (180-98) who scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Michal Palat (194-90) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Ostrava players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Martin Vanak (198-87) who recorded 31 points and 8 rebounds and guard Jan Hlobil (190) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Ostrava moved-up to seventh place in East, which they share with Opava B. Loser Olomouc SK still closes the standings with six games lost. Ostrava will face higher ranked Novy Jicin (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
