Regular Season Round 5: Brose Bask. - MBC 88-73

Date: October 27, 2018
Bottom-ranked Mitteldeutscher BC is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to leader Brose Baskets (4-0) 88-73 on Saturday evening. Brose Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American-Montenegrin point guard Tyrese Rice (185-87, college: Boston Coll.) nailed a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 assists for the winning side and Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 17 points and 8 rebounds. Brose Baskets' coach Ainars Bagatskis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian point guard Jovan Novak (188-94, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and American forward James Farr (208-92, college: Xavier) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Mitteldeutscher BC in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Brose Baskets have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with ALBA and EWE Baskets. Loser Mitteldeutscher BC still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Braunschweig. Brose Baskets will meet Braunschweig (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Mitteldeutscher BC will have a break next round.
