Regular Season Round 7: Besancon - Souffel 62-107
Date: October 27, 2018
Everything went according to plan when leader Souffelweyersheim (7-0) outscored on the road 6th ranked Besancon (4-3) 107-62 on Saturday. Souffelweyersheim dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Besancon's 22. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Souffelweyersheim looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Besancon's players. It was a great evening for Ivorian center Cedric Bah (198-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. Antony Labanca (192-94) helped adding 17 points and 6 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Five Souffelweyersheim players scored in double figures. At the losing side Lithuanian forward Rokas Uzas (202-88) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Swiss Nicolas Dos-Santos (200-87) scored 18 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Souffelweyersheim. They keep a position of Group A leader, which they share with Saint-Quentin. Newly promoted Besancon keeps the sixth place with three games lost. Souffelweyersheim will face Orchesien BC (#5) in Orchies in the next round. Besancon will play at home against SO Maritime Boulogne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
