Regular Season Round 5: Bondi Ferrara - Cagliari DA 94-65

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Cagliari DA (1-4) was outplayed on the road by seventh ranked Bondi Ferrara (3-2) 94-65 on Sunday. Bondi Ferrara outrebounded Cagliari DA 39-20 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. Bondi Ferrara looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American-Irish forward Mike Hall (203-84, college: G.Washington) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners and guard Alessandro Panni (189-91, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Anthony Miles (185-89, college: Lamar) responded with 20 points and swingman Lorenzo Bucarelli (196-98) scored 14 points. Five Bondi Ferrara and four Cagliari DA players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bondi Ferrara moved-up to fifth place in A2. Loser Cagliari DA keeps the sixteenth position with four games lost. Bondi Ferrara will face A.Costa IM (#11) in Imola in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Cagliari DA will play at home against Baltur Cento (#4) and hope to win that game.
