Regular Season Round 6: Novy Jicin - Vysocina 81-65

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Novy Jicin. Third ranked Novy Jicin faced 4th ranked Vysocina. Host Novy Jicin (4-1) defeated guests from Jihlava (3-3) 81-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Vysocina. Strangely Vysocina outrebounded Novy Jicin 54-35 including a 24-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Novy Jicin especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was guard Jan Kelar (193-97) who scored 18 points. Point guard Daniel Szarowski (182-99) chipped in 18 points. Five Novy Jicin players scored in double figures. Novy Jicin's coach David Hajek used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Jiri Bubak (194-84) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists and center Pavel Ciha (201-92) added 12 points and 15 rebounds respectively. Novy Jicin have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position in East with 4-1 record having just three points less than leader J.Hradec. Vysocina at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Zlin. Novy Jicin are looking forward to face Ostrava (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Vysocina will play against B&W Opava B and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
