Regular Season Round 5: Braila - Medias 68-100

An interesting game for Medias (2-1) which played road game in Braila against 4th placed Braila (0-3). Second ranked Medias had an easy win 100-68. The game was mostly controlled by Medias. Braila was better in second period 27-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Braila's 28. They outrebounded Braila 38-19 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Medias players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian Stefan Sajin (205-93) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. American point guard Kareem Storey (183-92, college: Morehead St.) chipped in 24 points, 6 assists and 5 steals (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Coach Mihai Popa's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Adrian Movileanu (195-93) produced 21 points and Andrei Damian (196-94) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Medias and four Braila players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Medias maintains second place with 2-1 record having just three points less than leader Voluntari, which they share with Cluj Napoca. Braila at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
