Regular Season Round 8: Cuxhaven - Stade 76-92

There was an upset when higher ranked Cuxhaven (4-5) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Stade (4-4) 92-76 on Saturday. Stade forced 22 Cuxhaven turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Spanish point guard Francesc Iturria (180-96, college: Culver Stockton) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Janis Stielow (193-95) who added 28 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American guard Jordan Rezendes (188-92, college: Mass.-Dartmouth) responded with 26 points and 5 assists and Croatian guard Tomislav Gabric (198-91, college: Ft.Hays State) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Stade moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Wusterhausen and Rendsburg. Loser Cuxhaven dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Stade will face ETV (#12) in Hamburg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cuxhaven will play on the road against Neustadt TSV (#11) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
