Regular Season Round 8: Rivne - Khimik-2 74-69

Higher League top team - Rivne-OSHVSM (6-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Khimik-2 (3-5) 74-69. Khimik-2 was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Khimik-2 44-25 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rivne-OSHVSM players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Khimik-2's players. Forward Yevgen Koroviyakov (199-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Oleksandr Shepelev (201-94) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Denys Klevzunyk (192-0) replied with 14 points and 7 rebounds and guard Anwar Rakhimshaikov (188-97) added 19 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) in the effort for Khimik-2. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Rivne-OSHVSM have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Khimik-2 lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
