Regular Season Round 7: Zentro Basket - Aridane 83-87

There was a minor upset in Madrid where 7th ranked Zentro Basket (3-4) was defeated by tenth ranked Aridane (3-4) 87-83 on Saturday. Aridane dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Zentro Basket's 34. It was a great evening for American guard Corey Raley-Ross (191-91, college: Buffalo) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Billy McDonald (198-94, college: Caldwell) helped adding 27 points. At the losing side power forward Guillermo Bastante (201-98) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Montenegrin point guard Pavle Titic (191-0) scored 17 points and 5 assists. Five Zentro Basket players scored in double figures. Zentro Basket's coach Fernando Reborio rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aridane moved-up to eighth place in Group B, which they share with Rivas and Zentro Basket. Aridane will face Pozuelo (#14) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Zentro Basket will play against Quintanar (#6) and hope to win that game.
