Regular Season Round 7: Mataro Feimat - Esparreguera 67-84

There was an upset when 3rd placed Mataro Feimat (5-2) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Esparreguera (3-4) 84-67 on Sunday. It was a great evening for forward Sergi Ala-Pla (195-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Ruben Morales (193-85) helped adding 17 points. Five Esparreguera players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward David Romero (191-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Ignasi Arino (180-86) scored 15 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Esparreguera moved-up to eighth place in Group C-A, which they share with Castellbisbal. Loser Mataro Feimat keeps the third position with two games lost. Esparreguera will face Calvia (#14) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mataro Feimat will play against Cornella (#11) and hope to win that game.
