Regular Season Round 7: Ostrava - Novy Jicin 86-81

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Novy Jicin (4-2) against seventh ranked Ostrava (3-4) on Sunday night. Visiting Novy Jicin was defeated by Ostrava in a tough game in Ostrava 81-86. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Novy Jicin. It was a great evening for guard Dominik Lukac (190-0) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Jan Ricka (180-98) helped adding 9 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. At the losing side forward Lukas Pindroch (198-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and guard Zdenek Jakubu (185-97) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Novy Jicin's coach David Hajek rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ostrava have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain seventh place in East with 3-4 record. Novy Jicin at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. Ostrava will play against higher ranked Vysocina (#5) in Jihlava in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Novy Jicin will play at home against the league's second-placed Olomouc Bbal having rather not much hope for a victory.
