Regular Season Round 8: Spartak SP-2 - CSKA Junior 58-77

VTB-Youth top team - CSKA Junior (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Spartak SP-2 (2-6) in Sankt Petersburg 77-58. The game without a history. CSKA Junior led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. CSKA Junior forced 24 Spartak SP-2 turnovers and had a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Spartak SP-2 was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by guard Denis Kovalev (190-1, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who scored that evening 19 points and swingman Danila Pokhodiaev (199-1) supported him with 5 points and 13 rebounds. Even 15 points and 5 rebounds by forward Grigoriy Komisarenko (198-98) did not help to save the game for Spartak SP-2. Forward Vsevolod Valeev (194-0) added 4 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. CSKA Junior have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record. Spartak SP-2 at the other side keeps the ninth place with six games lost. CSKA Junior will play against bottom-ranked Enisey-2 (#11) in Krasnoyarsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spartak SP-2 will have a break next round.
