Bottom-ranked Empoli (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 89-65 loss to sixth ranked Broni (3-2) in Broni. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Empoli's 26. Broni forced 26 Empoli turnovers and outrebounded them 40-28 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Broni will play against Torino (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Empoli will play against Battipaglia and hopes to get finally their first victory.
