Regular Season Round 8: Zhejiang Ch. - Shanxi Z. 116-117

The most exciting game of round 8 in the CBA took place in Hangzhou. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-ranked Golden Bulls (7-4) to sixteenth ranked Brave Dragons (3-5) 117-116 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Golden Bulls. Brave Dragons made 30-of-36 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Golden Bulls helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American Shabazz Muhammad (198-92, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording 39 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Josh Adams (188-93, college: Wyoming) who added 30 points and 9 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) during the contest. American guard Marcus Denmon (191-90, college: Missouri, agency: BeoBasket) responded with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 9 assists and international guard Qian Wu (190-94) scored 36 points (!!!). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Golden Bulls' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Brave Dragons moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Sichuan BW and Jilin NE T. Golden Bulls at the other side keep the second position with four games lost. Brave Dragons is looking forward to face Monkey Kings (#19) in Jiangsu in the next round where they are favorite. Golden Bulls will play on the road against Eagles (#20) in Qingdao and are hoping to win this game.
