Regular Season Round 6: Keflavik - Breidablik 88-80

Date: November 8, 2018
Very expected game when 10th ranked Breidablik (1-5) was defeated on the road by second ranked Keflavik (5-1) 88-80. Breidablik was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 49-36 second half run of Keflavik. It was a good game for American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. The former international guard Hordur Vilhjalmsson (194-88) contributed with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Keflavik players scored in double figures. American guard Christian Covile (193-93, college: Adrian) replied with 25 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Snorri Vignisson (193-97) added 15 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Breidablik. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Keflavik have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Njardvik and Tindastoll. Newly promoted Breidablik keeps the tenth place with five games lost. Keflavik's next round opponent will be Skallagrimur (#8) in Borganes and are hoping to win another game. Breidablik will play at home against Thor Thorl and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
