Regular Season Round 6: Tindastoll - Grindavik 71-70

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Dominos League took place in Sauoarkrokur. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Grindavik (2-4) to first ranked Tindastoll (5-1) 71-70 on Thursday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Grindavik was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. American power forward Urald King (198-90, college: SE Oklahoma) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized American forward Danero Thomas (200-86, college: Murray St.) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Ivorian-French forward Tiegbe Bamba (204-91, college: Portland St.) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and Dutch forward Jordy Kuiper (206-95, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Inception Sports) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Five Tindastoll and four Grindavik players scored in double figures. Tindastoll maintains first position with 5-1 record, which they share with Keflavik and Njardvik. Grindavik at the other side keeps the eighth place with four games lost. They share the position with Skallagrimur. Tindastoll is looking forward to face Stjarnan (#5) on the road in the next round. Grindavik will play against Njardvik and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
