Regular Season Round 9: Chalons-Reims - Le Mans 76-66

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Le Mans (4-5) lost on the road to seventh ranked Chalons-Reims (6-3) 76-66 on Friday. Chalons-Reims forced 22 Le Mans turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Chalons-Reims especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. It was a good game for Serbian guard Nikola Knezevic (200-99) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Louis Cassier (203-97) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Guard Kenny Baptiste (197-0) answered with 17 points and point guard Matthieu Gauzin (186-1) added 14 points in the effort for Le Mans. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Chalons-Reims. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser Le Mans keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Chalons-Reims will face Chalon (#8) at home in the next round. Le Mans will play against ASVEL in Villeurbanne and hope to win that game.
