Regular Season Round 10: Saint Vallier - Aubenas 60-68

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Saint Vallier (7-3) against twelfth ranked Aubenas (3-7) on Saturday night. Visiting Saint Vallier was defeated by Aubenas in a tough game in Aubenas 60-68. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Saint Vallier. Strangely Saint Vallier outrebounded Aubenas 38-21 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Tommy Ghezala (184-92) notched 13 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and American forward Gregg Thondique (201-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Aubenas players scored in double figures. Even 9 points and 12 rebounds by Senegalese-Spanish center Maodo Nguirane (210-93) did not help to save the game for Saint Vallier. Point guard Rida El-Amrani (184-86) added 5 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Aubenas moved-up to tenth place in Group A, which they share with Charleville and Recy Saint-Martin. Saint Vallier at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Aubenas will play against GET Vosges (#14) in Golbey in the next round. Saint Vallier will play at home against Kaysersberg (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
