Regular Season Round 12: Silute - Zalgiris II 89-86

Important game to mention about took place in Silute. Sixth ranked Silute (7-5) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 4th ranked Zalgiris II (6-5) 89-86 on Saturday evening. Strangely Zalgiris II outrebounded Silute 42-28 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Zalgiris II was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Evaldas Dziaugys (196-96) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds and international Andrius Globys (198-95) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Silute players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Erikas Venskus (205-0) with 22 points and 8 rebounds and guard Arnas Adomavicius (193-0) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Zalgiris II's coach Tomas Kersis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Silute have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Zalgiris II at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Delikatesas and Perlas. Silute will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Zalgiris II will play at home against Jonava (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
