Regular Season Round 8: Miraflores - Solares 80-71

There was no surprise in Burgos where bottom-ranked Solares (0-5) was defeated by fourth ranked Miraflores (4-1) 80-71 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Estonian Robert Valge (195-97) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Victor Aguilar (185-98) chipped in 11 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. American power forward RJ Freeman (205-95, college: Pikeville) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and forward Sergio Garcia (195-95) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Miraflores moved-up to third place in Group A-A, which they share with Ardoi and Mondragon. Newly promoted Solares still closes the standings with five games lost. Miraflores will face Gallofa (#6) in Santander in the next round. Solares will play at home against Univ.Valladolid (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
