Regular Season Round 7: Voluntari - Braila 133-33

Leader host Voluntari (5-0) smashed 4th placed Braila (0-4) 133-33. The game without a history. Voluntari led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Braila to just 7 points in second quarter. Voluntari held Braila to an opponent 19.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 64.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Voluntari forced 26 Braila turnovers and outrebounded them 61-21 including a 40-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 44 assists comparing to just 3 passes made by Braila's players. Voluntari brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Trey Zeigler (196-91, college: TCU, agency: BeoExcell) who led the winners and scored 24 points, 8 assists and 5 steals (perfect from the field making all twelve shots !!!). His fellow American import forward Aron Nwankwo (202-92, college: Pittsburgh) accounted for 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Dragos Grozea (-1) came up with 9 points and guard Florin Voiculet added 6 points respectively for Braila in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Voluntari have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Voluntari maintains first place with 5-0 record. Braila at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with four games lost. Voluntari will play against league's second-placed Medias at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Braila will play against Constanta and hopes to get finally their first victory.
