Regular Season Round 9: BK Pardubice - NH Ostrava 128-71

There was no surprise when 7th ranked NH Ostrava (4-5) was crushed on the road by third ranked BK Pardubice (6-2) 128-71 on Saturday. BK Pardubice dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to NH Ostrava's 42. BK Pardubice forced 20 NH Ostrava turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by NH Ostrava's players. NH Ostrava was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Dwayne Benjamin (201-93, college: Oregon) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Richard Williams (178-87, college: San Diego St., agency: HMS) chipped in 18 points and 7 assists. BK Pardubice's coach Levell Sanders felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Petr Bohacik (205-85, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and Canadian guard Justus Alleyne (187-95) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. BK Pardubice maintains third place with 6-2 record having just two points less than leader CEZ Nymburk. Loser NH Ostrava dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. BK Pardubice will face BK Opava (#4) at home in the next round. NH Ostrava will play against Basketbal Svitavy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
