Important game to mention about took place in Bonn. Ninth ranked Telekom Baskets (4-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 18th ranked Crailsheim Merlins (1-7) 89-87 on Sunday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. American guard Rashad James (185-90, college: Keiser) fired 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. His fellow American import center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Australian swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: Augusta) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and the former international center Philipp Neumann (209-92) added 18 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) respectively for lost side. Four Telekom Baskets and five Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Telekom Baskets moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Goettingen and Vechta. Crailsheim Merlins lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Telekom Baskets will face s Oliver Baskets (#14) in Wuerzburg in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
